<p style="text-align: justify;">Recientemente Crue Universidades Españolas ha entrado a formar parte del Club. Por eso, hemos querido entrevistar a Segundo Píriz, presidente de Crue Universidades Españolas y rector de la Universidad de Extremadura que nos descubre las claves para hacer de la Universidad española un referente, qué retos se plantean para el 2016, y qué esperan de una asociación como el Club. Conoce más de cerca a Crue.</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>1. Constituida en el año 1994, Crue Universidades Españolas trabaja para poner en valor a la Universidad española. Además de la excelencia, ¿qué otros aspectos consideráis fundamentales para hacer de la Universidad española un referente?</strong></p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">Creo que lo ha señalado muy bien en su pregunta. Debemos perseguir incansablemente la excelencia para hacer de la universidad española un referente. La excelencia se alcanza trabajando y esforzándose en varios frentes, como son la transparencia, el rigor, la rendición de cuentas, la mejora continua, la investigación, la transferencia de conocimiento, la mejora de la empleabilidad de nuestros estudiantes. En definitiva, trabajando por garantizar la máxima calidad del sistema en su conjunto.</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">Nuestro sistema universitario goza de una muy buena salud en su conjunto, lo pone de manifiesto el hecho de que más del 80% de nuestras universidades públicas se encuentran entre las 5% del mundo según el Ranking de Shanghai. No obstante, el compromiso de Crue Universidades Españolas con la búsqueda de la excelencia es máximo y, no le quepa duda, de que es el elemento central de la estrategia de la organización, y de todas las instituciones que componen el sistema universitario español.</p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>2. Como voz de las universidades, ¿qué nuevos retos os marcáis para este año 2016?</strong></p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">Como bien saben, soy presidente de esta institución desde finales de 2015, con lo que los retos que me planteo para 2016 coinciden, prácticamente al 100% con lo que nos fijamos en el programa electoral.</p>\n
<ul>\n
<li style="text-align: justify;">Las universidades españolas defenderemos la necesidad de una mayor autonomía para nuestras instituciones que permita aplicar las políticas estatales y autonómicas con la flexibilidad suficiente para conseguir avanzar con mayor rapidez hacia la excelencia. Una autonomía que deber acompañada igualmente por una mejor financiación que alcance los niveles de los países europeos más avanzados y por asegurar unas plantillas de profesorado adecuadas.</li>\n
<li style="text-align: justify;">La igualdad de oportunidades en el acceso y la permanencia en la universidad de todos los ciudadanos que deseen cursar estudios superiores. Ello implica una mayor dotación en becas y ayudas al estudio para todos los estudiantes que lo precisen o merezcan, ayudas que en estos momentos son una tercera parte de la media de los países de la OCDE.</li>\n
<li style="text-align: justify;">Una mayor apuesta por la investigación como motor de crecimiento económico y social. La investigación realizada por el sistema universitario español representa más del 60% de la producción científica de nuestro país, pese a los cada vez más escasos recursos que se destinan a este fin.</li>\n
<li style="text-align: justify;">Debemos seguir incrementando la internacionalización de nuestras universidades. Es necesario continuar la negociación con las Administraciones para simplificar los procesos que permitan venir a España a más universitarios de todo el mundo. En este sentido, debemos promover, entre otras acciones, más alianzas estratégicas con otros sistemas universitarios, diseñar más másteres, doctorados y programas internacionales y establecer una estrategia con las embajadas españolas.</li>\n
<li style="text-align: justify;">Hasta ahora, en España no ha habido una política de Estado consensuada para apostar por un sistema educativo universitario y por una investigación que fuera referencia internacional. Es necesario concienciar a la sociedad y a las fuerzas políticas de la importancia de aumentar la calidad de nuestras universidades y de la trascendencia que este hecho tiene para el progreso de nuestro país. Por todo lo anterior, necesitamos que la Universidad se vea por parte de los Gobiernos como una inversión imprescindible y no como un gasto.</li>\n
</ul>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>3. Recientemente, Crue Universidades Españolas ha entrado a formar parte del Club. ¿Cuáles han sido los motivos que os han llevado a apostar por una asociación como la nuestra? ¿Cuáles son vuestras expectativas?</strong></p>\n
<p style="text-align: justify;">El Club Excelencia en Gestión es garantía de calidad. Consideramos que pertenecer al Club nos puede ayudar a dar mayor visibilidad a nuestra institución así como a alcanzar un mayor reconocimiento y prestigio social.\u{A0} Nuestras expectativas son altas, pero estamos plenamente convencidos de que podréis superarlas.</p>\n
